Stephen Procter - Caseless Caddis Larva

Caseless Caddis Larva

Daiichi 1130 size 14
Thread:Grey 16/0
Rib:Fine chartreuse holographic mylar
Tail:Polypropylene yarn,pale orange
Abdomen:Layer of UV cure resin over the thread wraps
and cure, then a layer of light green rayon floss.Coat
the floss well with another coat of UV cure resin, and
allow the resin time to soak into the floss before curing.
One final light coating of UV cure resin afterwards.
Thorax:Grey ostrich quill...3 or 4 wraps,and clipped
close on the top after tying off behind the eye.
You can use a cautery to singe away the fibres at the top
but be very, very careful doing this.It does give a cleaner
surface.Try using a battery in your cautery tool that is
nearly spent so that the heating element does not get
   nearly as hot.
