Stephen Procter - Palmered Black Peacock Spider

Palmered Black and Peacock spider type

Daiichi 1530 , size 10
Thread:Black
Tag:Red holographic mylar tinsel
Rib:Fine copper wire
Body:Peacock herl, from just under the "eye" spot.
For this size 10 I used 3 herl pieces, tying 2 down at the
rear point of the body, and 1 at the front point of the
body. The wrapping sequence is one herl wound up
the body, securing it by wrapping the front herl back
and over. That second herl is then secured by winding
forward the last herl ...... which is then secured by
   wrapping back the palmered hackle.
....Remember that the peacock herl is much the
same as a rooster or hen hackle and has a shiny
front side and more dull rear side. You want the shiny
   sides wrapped facing forward.
Palmered hackle:Chinese rooster dyed dark claret...half
   stripped (one sided)
