Stephen Procter - Stuck Midge EXT

Stuck Midge EXT

Daiichi 1130 , size 18
Thread:Rusty brown 10/0
Extended body:Magic Flash fibres -very few,Lemon
and Rose Gold mix here... coated with thinned
rubber cement (see Translucent Extended Body
   Parachute Emerger ) . This abdomen/shuck was
made by simply dragging the long fibres against
the cement brush applicator and then pulling the
coated end against a dense plastic (UHMW) sheet
to remove excess.Do this a few times, letting the
rubber cement dry in between,to increase thickness
   and translucency.
Post/sighter:Polypropylene yarn,cut to a short tuft after
   completing the fly
Hackle:Grizzly ... cut off the fibres below the shank after
   completing the fly
Thorax:Dubbed mix of Llama Dubbing and Lustre Plus,
   here both in colour Grey.
...after wrapping the dubbing behind the post add the
pearl mylar wings, then dub a tiny amount again in front
   of the poly post.
Wings:Pearl mylar tinsel, wrapped around the post after
the 1st thorax dubbing application, and tied down at
   front of post.

  ... Obviously,any number of different fibre types,or
thread, etc.,can be used for the abdomen/shuck,from
reflective to dull.A flexible vinyl-type cement can be
applied as a clear coat to strengthen somewhat, and to
   increase depth/thickness.
