Stephen Procter - Olde 17

Olde 17    (Charles Cotton Dry variant) ... a loose interpretation

Daiichi 1190 ,here a 12

Silk:Pearsall Gossamer ,Amber used here
Tails: Grey mallard dyed golden olive
Wing hackle:Grey partridge,long fibred
Body hackle:Rooster dry quality...here I used an Indian neck variant,
   dark brown and bronze
Body:Sparsley dubbed mix of hare ear and beaver under fur
...the body is dubbed down toward the shank and then ribbed
with the silk as it is brought forward to catch and fasten the
body hackle. The silk is wound further forward through the wing
hackle and tied off behind the hook eye.
Start your silk tie on at the bend of the hook then fasten on the
tail fibres that you want to use.Bring the silk forward to just behind
the eye and then fasten on the wing hackle.Take the silk back
along the shank to allow for tying off the wing hackle....then fasten
the body hackle directly behind the wound wing hackle.Dub from
this point, backwards to the tail, and then wind back your body hackle
,catch in with the silk, and wind the silk rib up to secure both hackles.
